On April 3, 1994, twelve students at the University of California at Davis had a vision of offering friendship, and support to pre-medical students. They came together and formed Kappa Gamma Delta.
In hopes of expanding the organization, the members of the Alpha Chapter met with the future founding members of the Beta Chapter, in the fall semester of 2000, to expand Kappa Gamma Delta to California State University, Sacramento.
Katie McCloskey, Marlana Babcock, & Misty Pacheco spent the semester learning about the organization and were activated on November 30, 2000. They were elected into office in the Fall and Katie became the first President, Marlana; the first Vice President, and Misty; the first Pledge Mom.
